Biography
After the subsequent sale of the restaurants, I returned to college to obtain my teaching certificate. I hold a B.A degree in History and a Master's in Education. I have been a public school teacher for fourteen years and am now in my fourteenth year of teaching at Fredericksburg High School. I teach Advanced Placement History, A.P. U.S. Government and Politics, and Economics.
Fredericksburg has seen many changes in the past three decades and likely will experience many more in the coming years. Change means growth and growth means progress. However, we cannot forget our heritage along the way. To have progress while still preserving the past, you must plan and prepare for the future.
We have much to be proud of in our town. A first class health care system, a school system that is indeed the "pride of the Texas Hill Country", a Main Street shopping mecca, high levels of civic involvement, low levels of crime, fine dining, fine arts, fine wines, friendly people, and a unique cultural flavor that only Fredericksburg can claim are all what makes us stand out from other Texas towns.
As your city councilman I will provide a fair, honest, and balanced opinion to decisions being made about the future of Fredericksburg. My main considerations concern the pride, preservation, and progress of our town. I hope you will email me at tommusselman@gmail.com with your questions and comments. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you.
I have served on the Vision 2020 Education Committee and I was a member of the city of Fredericksburg Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee. I have served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 135 and my wife and I are members of St. Mary's parish. Pet lovers, we share our home with several cats.
